News & Diary
Upholstery
The coffee table and magazine rack on the right is one of the nicest
I have seen. Its classic contemporary style works well with any setting.
It is perfect for spreading out the Sunday papers and excellent for
a quick tidy away underneath. It
makes a good sized coffee table and a comfortable extra seat.
Lighting
Recently I visited the Zest Gallery in Earls Court. They have a wonderful
collection, showing work from a range of contemporary glass designers
and they blow the glass on the premises which is amazing to watch.
Beautiful, magical and scrumptious designs abound in their showroom.
Rugs
Rugs are marvellous additions to any room and give instant colour and
texture. I thought these rugs were most intriguing as they feature,
as they say, ‘sensuous silhouettes almost abstract but never
really rude.’ Many rug companies are now able to work to
a brief of colour and design so you really can have the size, colour
and quality you want.
Paints
While at visiting Decorex, the pre-eminent trade show for interior design professionals,
last September I came across a variety of new and exciting paint manufacturers.
I was extremely impressed by the wonderful clarity, variation and softness
of colours in all their paint ranges. I am trying them out to see which
of them have the best coverage. These paints are all made in the UK
and are claimed to be formulated without the harmful chemicals found in many
ordinary paints.
Gardens
Whilst concentrating on the house the garden often gets neglected. If
your knowledge of garden plants is limited or your pruning skills leave
something to be desired, then I think I have the perfect solution. Horticulturist
Valerie Munro can guide you in the art of garden care. She understands
how to make your plants thrive and find the best ones of for your site,
leaving you with easy to understand instructions of what to do and when. Call
me for further information.
If you would like further information of any of the items listed above please call me.
